Founder, Product Builder & Creator of Thalam 360

Photography took me away from technology. Technology brought me back.

After 14 years operating Wide Angle Creations, I built Thalam 360 to solve the operational chaos I experienced firsthand.

Roots in Coimbatore

I was born and raised in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Growing up, I was always curious about computers, electronics, and software logic.

2012The Business

Starting Wide Angle Creations

I started Wide Angle Creations in Coimbatore. Over 14 years, I managed every aspect of the business from the ground up: shooting thousands of weddings and events, coordinating teams, and handling daily business operations across South India.

The Friction Behind Creative Businesses

I loved photography, but running the daily business was exhausting. Client inquiries got lost on WhatsApp, quotations were calculated manually on Excel late at night, payments were delayed, and terabytes of photos were scattered across hard drives. I realized creative businesses were struggling with operations, not their craft.

Self-TaughtEngineering

Learning Code with Zero Tech Mentors

Coming from a village background, there was no one around me who knew software or could guide me in tech. I had no mentors to ask for help. Every bug, every tool, and every line of code was something I had to figure out by myself late at night through trial and error. I taught myself modern full-stack web development (React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL) to solve our own business bottlenecks.

2025Software

Building Thalam 360

What began as internal software to fix my own studio grew into Thalam 360: an operating system for creative studios covering CRM, quotations, billing, and photo delivery. Today, over 70 registered studio accounts use the platform. 100% self-funded and built from real-world operations.

I will not stop learning. I will not stop building. I will not stop executing.

“Life does not always go as planned. But if you keep learning and working, every experience will one day turn into a new opportunity.”

The Problem

Operational Chaos in Studio Management

Running a photography studio involves much more than photography. Managing enquiries, quotations, billing, client communication, album selection, and team coordination often happens across WhatsApp, Excel, and multiple disconnected tools. I wanted to simplify all of it into one platform.

The Solution

One Unified Operating System

Thalam 360 brings everyday studio operations into one simple workflow. Instead of switching between multiple tools, studio owners can manage clients, quotations, billing, photo selection, and delivery from one place.

Architecture Choices

Engineering Decisions

PostgreSQL over NoSQL

ProblemDeep relationships between client profiles, quotations, and financial invoices.
DecisionStrict relational PostgreSQL with foreign keys.
Trade-offRequires schema migrations.
ImpactZero orphaned records and rock-solid financial consistency.

Supabase (Auth & Storage)

ProblemBuilding custom auth and multi-gigabyte gallery storage from scratch slows core shipping.
DecisionManaged Auth & Storage via Supabase.
Trade-offManaged service dependency.
ImpactSaved months of plumbing to focus 100% on studio workflows.

Database-Level Security (RLS)

ProblemMulti-tenant SaaS demands absolute isolation between studio accounts.
DecisionEnforced access via Postgres Row-Level Security (RLS).
Trade-offRequires strict SQL security policies.
ImpactDatabase inherently blocks cross-tenant access at the data layer.

Zustand State Management

ProblemInteractive quote builders need shared state without re-render lag.
DecisionLightweight Zustand stores over Redux or Context.
Trade-offThird-party state library.
ImpactSnappy, fast UI with zero unnecessary component re-renders.
Problem Solving

Engineering Challenges

Secure Multi-Tenancy

ApproachInstead of filtering data in the API layer, every single database query is strictly bound to the authenticated user's studio ID.
OutcomeTrue tenant isolation. A user physically cannot request data that doesn't belong to their own studio.

Handling 1,000+ Image Galleries

ApproachGenerated highly compressed WebP thumbnails on upload, combined with aggressive lazy loading and edge caching.
OutcomeLarge wedding galleries stay usable on mobile through thumbnails, lazy loading, and cached delivery.

Keeping it Simple

ApproachRuthlessly cut out 80% of the complex features competitors have, focusing only on the exact daily workflow of a studio.
OutcomeCustomer feedback stays focused on practical daily workflows instead of unnecessary feature complexity.
